India, Mumbai 11th March

Nearly as many people as whole Australian population are living in this giant city Mumbai.

It has been Bombay until they changed the name to Mumbai (Mumba is Hindu Goddes) in 1996.

Yes, it was so hot and humid that we both almost collapse on the street.

At the ship's terminal, just before negotiating with taxi drivers for fare.

All taxis are small like this photo above.

Negotiation of taxi fare and re-negotiating fare once more inside of this non-air-con taxi with persistent taxi drivers are such a daunting experience I would never want to have again.

Chickens in pen on tri scooter.

People, scooters, cars, taxis, rickshaw, cows are all mixed up and ignoring road lines which doesn't even exist.

One has to hold the taxi handle and closes one's eyes and keeps praying.

Gate of India built in 1911 for King George's visit.

Taj hotel survived bomb attack in recent time and refurbished.

Hotel pool.

Greg and I had both beautiful spa salon treatment for whole morning.

A street scene.

A market behind the Taj hotel

Double decker buses never stop for passengers.

They simply hop on and hop off risking their lives.

One of many homeless family on street

Food was devine!

A very friendly waiter at Dehli Darbar restaurant we found behind the Taj hotel gave us excellent service.

We had very best naan bread ever!

Assorted samosas and chicken tikka was so yummy.

At the Khyber restaurant.

We loved foods here so much we had to come back for lunch on next day.

We just ordered various appetizers and they were more than enough.

The very best Indian foods I ever had!!!!!

A lot of people hated Mumbai but a lot of them would love to come back.
