Hermitage, St Petersburg, Russia 12May2015

Hermitage!

Whoa!

Our last stop for the first day in St Petersburg.

Surely, a couple of hours wouldn't be enough
to see 3 million collections.
Not even close!
Anna said that it would take 11 years
to see all of them.

Thanks to Catherine the Great!
What a collector!

Peacock clock is one of the most famous exhibit in the museum.
It was made by British jeweller James Cox
and acquired by Catherine the Great in 1781.

I have never seen these beautiful
orange coloured flower before.

Red tulips are so lovely
in the court yard.

Madonna by Leonardo Da Vinci.

One of many painting collections in the museum from
Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandts, Rubens,
Renoir, Cezanne, Manet, Monet, Pissarro,
Van Gogh, Matisse, Gaugin and several sculptures by Rodin...

Faberge Eggs displayed in the museum shop.

What a day!

We were absolutely blown away
with it's beautiful and luxurious
architecture and interiors
not alone
it's amazing collections!
