Welcome to Myanmar!
It is my first visit to this land of charm.
We docked at Port Thilawa
about 4pm and
are staying in the port
for 4 days.
Exciting!
We took a ship's excursion to Shwedagon pagoda by night.
It was about an hour drive by bus to Yangon from the port.
Shwedagon pagoda was built more than 2500 years ago
and visible from all over the town.
Every visitors have to leave
their shoes and socks
at the entrance
and walk around the pagoda in barefoot.
Golden stupa is topped with more than 6500 diamonds,
rubies and other precious gem stones.
Lighten a scent from the candle from
the corner of the day when you were born
